Information about the "Ataturk's Principles and History of Revolution I-II Course Exemption Exam" Application for Students Placed in Our School with YKS

INFORMATION REGARDING THE EXEMPTION EXAM APPLICATION FOR THE HISTORY OF ATATÜRK’S PRINCIPLES AND THE TURKISH REVOLUTION I–II COURSES

This announcement concerns the exemption exam application for students who wish to be exempt from the History of Atatürk’s Principles and the Turkish Revolution I and II courses included in the curricula of all departments and programs.

The 2026–2027 Academic Year Compulsory History of Atatürk’s Principles and the Turkish Revolution I–II Exemption Exam will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at 2:00 PM.

Note: The form will be open for applications between September 7 and September 15, 2026. On the final application day, the form will close at 5:00 PM. Applications submitted after the specified date and time will not be accepted.

Note: The Name, Surname, Student Number, Department/Program, and Vocational School/Faculty information in the application form must be completed accurately and in full. Applications containing missing or incorrect information will be considered invalid.

Exam Scope and Assessment Criteria

• Taking the exam is not compulsory. Only students who enrolled at the university in the 2026–2027 academic year may take the exam, provided that they complete the application form accurately and on time.
• The exam is graded out of 100 points.
• Students who score 60 or above will be exempt from the History of Atatürk’s Principles and the Turkish Revolution I–II courses. Their exam score will replace the grades for these courses and will be included in their graduation grade point average.
• Students who score below 60 will not be exempt and will be required to take these courses.
• Exemption procedures are carried out by the Student Affairs Office. Students should contact Student Affairs regarding exam results and their exemption status.
• The exam covers all topics from both the fall and spring semesters, including the final period and collapse of the Ottoman Empire, World War I and its consequences, the Armistice of Mudros and the occupations, the preparation period of the National Struggle, congresses and the opening of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, the Turkish War of Independence and its fronts, the Treaty of Lausanne, and developments following the establishment of the Republic.
