Announcement Regarding Additional Exams and Extensions for Associate and Bachelor's Degree Students Who Will Reach Their Maximum Study Period by the End of the Spring Semester of the 2025-2026 Academic Year
"Except for the one-year foreign language preparatory class (maximum two years), students who fail to successfully complete and graduate from associate degree programs within a maximum of four years and from bachelor's degree programs within a maximum of seven years, regardless of whether they register for each semester, starting from the semester in which the courses related to the program are given, may register to continue their education, provided they pay the student contribution fee/tuition fee per course taken in the relevant semester, in accordance with the conditions specified in Article 46 of this Law. The preparatory education period is a maximum of two years. Students cannot be dismissed for non-payment of contribution fees and tuition fees or failure to renew registration within the maximum periods; however, students may be dismissed for non-payment of contribution fees or tuition fees or failure to renew registration for four consecutive years, upon the decision of the authorized university boards and the approval of the Higher Education Council."
The provision states: After the extended exams, the student's status will be evaluated within the framework of the "Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University Associate and Undergraduate Education, Teaching and Examination Regulations Maximum Study Periods and Student Status (Article 12)", and the student will be granted an extension, unlimited exam rights, or their enrollment will be terminated.
Students who have completed their maximum study period are given two additional exam opportunities for all courses they have failed. These two additional exam opportunities are used after the end-of-semester exam periods for these courses and before the start of the new academic term. If, after these exams, the student cannot reduce the number of failed courses to five, including courses they have never taken and those for which they have not met the attendance requirement, their enrollment with the University will be terminated.
After the two additional exam opportunities given to students who have completed their maximum study period for all courses they have failed, never taken, or failed due to absenteeism, those who reduce the number of failed, never taken, or failed due to absenteeism to five courses will be given three semesters for these five courses; Students who have failed up to five courses, failed all courses, or failed due to absenteeism without using their right to take supplementary exams, are granted four semesters; students who have failed one course are granted the right to take exams an unlimited number of times without losing their student status.
